A warrior is not a fool...
« on: August 06, 2015, 06:22:25 PM »
"You must understand that a warrior is not a fool. A warrior is an immaculate hunter who hunts power; he's not drunk, or crazed, and he has neither the time nor the disposition to bluff, or to make a wrong move. The stakes are too high for that. The stakes are trimmed orderly life which he has taken so long to tighten and perfect. He is not going to throw that away by making some stupid miscalculation, by taking something for being something else." ~Journey to Ixtlan

Warriors are sane and their minds are sharp. If they do make a mistake, because we all can do this, a warrior will learn from it, correct it, move on, and not repeat it. Warriors are intelligent, both eager for new knowledge, and respect old knowledge which they have been given. They don't get angry over trivial things. You don't see them engaging in stupid arguments. If they are faced with someone angry, they have ways of diffusing the situation. They know that engaging in spats is a waste of energy.
Every action is followed by careful thoughts, and a warrior does not act haphazardly. They are careful with the expenditure of energy. So they think first, act, and let go without remorse. This may sound easy, but if you look in the world of ordinary men and women, you will see many people acting on impulse, without regard for others or their environment. They are careless with their acts, and do not accept responsibility for their actions. They are cracked gourds.

Because everything is about growth, and finding the Infinite, while warriors don't take everything seriously, they are serious about the Infinite and their fate. Because only one with the skills of an impeccable warrior can reach it. The Eagle's Gift is not granted to mindless fools who never had respect for anybody.

"With fools, their is no companionship. Rather than to live with men who are selfish, vain, quarrelsome, or obstinate, let a man walk alone." ~Buddha

This is important: the company you keep. Fools can rub off on us. They can also be difficult to coax into change, or get to see the error of their ways. Usually it takes a significant event for a fool to wake up and realize they are just that. However, others do not get the message and ignore it. So if you do know a fool or so, you may need to examine why that person is around. It is necessary to realize, you cannot save others, only yourself.
