A core of constancy
No one changes
Perception does.
Reality born of perception
Dressed in self –importance must…
…leave

Peeling back the layers
Effortlessly without Struggle
Leaving perceptions of others
And others perceptions of me…
… behind.

Who am I?
What am I?
I am nothing and everything…
…consistently.

Pure awareness
Naked, brilliant, loving, flowing…
…self

A balancing of…

Goodess...

Look who we have here!

Let me take you,

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see
It's getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn't matter much to me
Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low
That is you can't you know tune in but it's all right, that is I think it's not too bad

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever

Always, no sometimes, think it's me, but you know I know when it's a dream
I think I know I mean a "Yes" but it's all wrong, that is I think I disagree

Let me take you down, 'cos I'm going to Strawberry Fields
Nothing is real, and nothing to get hungabout
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever
Strawberry Fields forever

Stop it! You'll slay me if I have a Life of Brian moment! Now I see him flashing the crowd, thanks to you!!

Brian: You are all individuals!

Crowd: YES, YES, WE ARE ALL INDIVIDUALS!

Brian: You are all different!

Crowd: YES, WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT!

Lone Voice: I'm not!

Person next to him: SHH!

Kris and I went to Lake Meade yesterday.  It was a georgeous day!  We set out in the afternoon with a bundle of fire wood and some food snacks and drinks.  We were headed to a secluded area that Kris had been a couple of years back.  We intended to find a nice spot to sit, talk, enjoy just being together away from it all, and build a fire.

The water had receded quite a bit in the two years past, and Kris wasn't completely familiar with the new roads.  There were several different roads to choose from, so we just went where our intuition led.

And then there it was ...  a beautiful clearing right next to the water.  And someone had already built a fire pit!  At dusk, when we started leveling the pit to build a fire we found a smoldering huge log, buried in the center of the pit.  :)

It could not have been a more perfect day!

Some pics ....

As the sun set in the west, there were the most amazing blues and magentas that bounce off of the red rock mountains and sky in the east ....

About an hour after the clouds tucked in the sun, we built our fire.  We felt a presence for sure ... and no matter where I stood or at what angle I took the pictures, I just couldn't get a clear photo of the fire.  It was so very bright, and the energy that illuminated around it so big!  I noticed an image after downloading our pics, there was someone sitting directly across from Kris.  First I thought it was just the camera, but the image is in each of the fire pics and it's in exactly the same spot  ;)

Your very welcome :)

At first I thought the shape was a necklace of some sort, like an old native american type, but as I look at the other pics, I can actually see the outline of a face, as if the image in the above picture framed a face.

Zam and i went to see Love by Cirque du Soleil at the Mirage Hotel here in Vegas awhile back ... one of my favorites to listen to and play on the guitar... from my favorite Beatle ...

Artist:    The Beatles
Album:    Anthology 3
Title:    While My Guitar Gently Weeps (Harrison) (http://exodus.interoutemediaservices.com/?id=20adcdc3-0f1c-47d8-83dc-16b4932a6c09&delivery=stream)

I look at you all see the love there that's sleeping
While my guitar gently weeps
I look at the floor and i see it needs sweeping
Still my guitar gently weeps

I don't know why nobody told you how to unfold your love
I don't know how someone controlled you
They bought and sold you.

I look at the world and i notice it's turning
While my guitar gently weeps
With every mistake we must surely be learning
Still my guitar gently weeps

I don't know how you were diverted
You were perverted too
I don't know how you were inverted
No one alerted you.

I look from the wings at the play you are staging,
While my guitar gently weeps.
As I'm sitting here, doing nothing but aging,
Still, my guitar gently weeps.

That was a nice read, Ang. "spiritual warfare" is indeed an appropriate title to the book!

Contrary to what you may think, I do enjoy your extracts of JM's books.   :)

Like many 'self-realized' gurus/teachers, he has what to him I call "short-cuts" - a result of "hindsight".  In his giving of 'Brett's Eulogy', he remarks to himself that maybe one or even two, though probably none, may get what he is saying. He's right in that, because mostly it's about 'The Journey", and even though hindsight in our own journey reveals at times what we may have know, though it was veiled, 'realization' is to me, experiential, and so it is our experiences - all of them - that can bring us to a point where we can actually discard anything, and 'our experience'is The Journey itself; or Life.
One doesn't have to be 'spiritual' to do so. That often is a source of the problem.. so busy defining being spiritual that we can be trapped in what it means - a guru/teacher no less than any other. JM seems to have had an interesting journey; Perhaps at the core of it is indeed his question "what do 'you' want?" (generic 'you')

thunder perfect mind (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6tPXNyjO4o)

for i am the first and the last
i am the wife and the virgin
i am the mother and the daughter
i am she whose weddings great, and i have not taken a husband
i am the bride and the bridegroom
i am senseless and i am wise
come forward to childhood and do not despise it because it is small and it is little
and do not turn away greatnesses in some parts from the smallnesses
for the smallnesses are know from the greatnesses
i am the one who is honored and who is praised
i am knowledge and ignorance
i am shame and boldness
i am shameless, i am ashamed
i am control and uncontrollable
i am strength and i am fear
i am war and peace
i am the substance and the one who has no substance
but i, i am compassionate and i am cruel
do not hate my obedience and do not love my self control
i am the union and the disillusion
i am she who exists in all fears and strength in trembling
i am she who is weak and I am well in a pleasant place
and i am an alien and a citizen
i am the silence that is incomprehensible
an idea whose remembrance is frequent
i am the voice whose sound is manifold
for i am the first and the last

The Ascent of Mount Carmel
St John of the Cross

To reach satisfaction in all
desire satisfaction in nothing
To come to the knowledge of all
desire the knowledge of nothing
To come to possess all
desire the possession of nothing
To arrive at being all
desire to be nothing

To come to the pleasure you have not
you must go by a way in which you enjoy not
To come to the knowledge you have not
you must go by a way in which you know not
To come to the possession you have not
you must go by a way in which you possess not
To come to be what you are not
you must go by a way in which you are not

When you turn toward something
you cease to cast yourself upon the all
For to go from the all to the all
you must leave yourself in all
And when you come to the possession of all
you must possess it without wanting anything

In this nakedness the spirit
finds its rest, for when it
covets nothing, nothing
raises it up, and nothing
weighs it down, because it is
in the center of its humility.

"There is a being, wonderful, perfect;
It existed before heaven and earth.
How quiet it is!
How spiritual it is!
It stands alone and it does not change.
It moves around and around, but it does not on this account suffer.
All life comes from it.
It wraps everything with its love as in a garment, and yet it claims no honor; it does not demand to be Lord.
I do not know its name, and so I call it Tao, the Way, and I rejoice in its power."

Adapted from  K.L. Reichelt’s translation of the twenty-fifth chapter of the Tao Te Ching in his Meditation and Piety, 41. The World's Religions, 218.

Left Brain    Right Brain
46%            54%

You are more right-brained than left-brained. The right side of your brain controls the left side of your body. In addition to being known as right-brained, you are also known as a creative thinker who uses feeling and intuition to gather information. You retain this information through the use of images and patterns. You are able to visualize the "whole" picture first, and then work backwards to put the pieces together to create the "whole" picture. Your thought process can appear quite illogical and meandering. The problem-solving techniques that you use involve free association, which is often very innovative and creative. The routes taken to arrive at your conclusions are completely opposite to what a left-brained person would be accustomed. You probably find it easy to express yourself using art, dance, or music. Some occupations usually held by a right-brained person are forest ranger, athlete, beautician, actor/actress, craftsman, and artist.

Heh!

Well, I'm 51% right and 49% left. I have to admit though ... I took it three times and 2 out of 3 resulted in 51% right/49% left, the 2nd try was 51% left and 49% right.  I know ... I'm weird ;)

I'm surprised the umpire didn't rule you out of order.

I must admit the question about are you absent-minded, I said rarely. But when later they asked if others think you are absent-minded, I had to admit often. Julie had a good laugh about that one. (But I think she's wrong)
