Weathered wood
This is what my heart has come to be
Whether it is good or bad
now this is me
Yes, I was as tender as a
newborn
bud on a twig once
soft and sweet like
the pollen of a bee
Sweet as the heart
of a newborn flower
don't you see,
but weathered wood
is what I've come to be
