Living in the Now - what is it?
« on: July 24, 2013, 10:31:56 AM »
It seems like it would be easy to live in the Now however its a lot more difficult then it seems. It is because mind wants to reflect on past and future so much, that the Now gets a backseat and we daydream in the now about past and future a lot.

This does not mean don't focus on a future because we have to have goals. But we need to be fully present in the here and now, to be able to make manifest a decent future.

It is like going to work. If you daydream and work haphazardly, and not focus well, you wont do a good job. However, if you focus and live in the moment only, then the work you put out will be more real and then you can do well, and create a good future for yourself.

My job is dealing with accounts with folks via chat all day. What I do is focus on each chat as it comes, and put off the 'last chat I did' or concern myself with others coming up. This way I am fully cognizant of the customer I am assisting, so I can assist them my best. I put my focus on them solely and work with them on their issue. I am present for them totally.

Life is really a series of moments, like pearls on a string. Each day we go to sleep, we die a little as the past goes into the past, and when we wake up we are reborn again and like new. We have a fresh start each day to do good things and do a good job, or be positive in our relationships. The past does not have to rule you as much as you think. You can even become a new person when being in the Now, just completely different than before, by making changes and in your approach to life.

I know it is easy to worry about the future, but we do not know what the future holds. We can get ideas and prepare for things, but we are not always sure. Living in the Now gives us the opportunity to explore this more and enrich our lives. Without being tethered to past or future. When you see it as a series of moments, life, verses three separate phases, you can be more productive and conductive in life. Try it.
