I was going to write a big long post on knowledge versus wisdom. But I came across this quote and aha, what a moment. It is so true we attain with knowledge, but we drop with wisdom.

Just think about people who have a lot of conflicting facts about the spiritual. It can actually become more confusing on the path, with conflicting knowledge. We can actually fill our minds with too much stuff and it can be very confusing, only creating more illusions in our mind.

When knowledge is embraced, and applied to everyday life, then it becomes wisdom. Like as a parent, when I first had my kids, I got books to read how to be a parent, read what I could. But it was learning through trial and error that I became wise. Now with one fully graduated and grown, and another two years away from the same, I can say as a parent I have acquired wisdom through experience. The knowledge gained assisted; but it was through experiencing the knowledge that it all made sense.

This is how we learn. If you have conflicting information you need to examine the information and after careful consideration, drop the useless. We can cling to worn out knowledge. It is like reading books. Sometimes we need to take them to the bookstore and get new books, after we have read them so many times.
