There was an excursion or battle from the part that now we call Greece and Aegeas son was sent to it ... Across the sea (...... )
Aegeas son and his warriors (to cut the story short) have told Aegeas, who was the king somehow of the "Greek' .. land... that if he was killed in the battle (or if the battle is lost, I 'm unsure about this detail) the ships will return with black sails...
The battle was won... But the warriors and Aegeas son, who was the leader- if I 'm not wrong- of the excursion, who made it alive, forgot their word to change the sails' colors.
The ships were returning
and Aegeas saw the sails were black, so he thought either the battle was lost or his son dead, and he dropped himself into the sea.
That's how the story said the Aegean sea took it's name .
