The dove that went away
« on: January 11, 2020, 04:33:04 AM »
I was listening to a story about Iran having shot down a passenger jet by accident ,
Wondering how long now,
I heard a very loud bang like a shot,
Too loud for a bat dropping mangos ,
Out of place ,

I went to see and there was a dove on the grass,
Its wings were fluttering fast ,
Its eyes half closed ,
I picked it up comforting it to see if it would recover,

It had hit very hard ,
Its neck lay to the side and became still when I held it gently in my hands ,
It then went peacefully and I wished it so,

I lay it underneath the tree that always fruits on a nice green grassy place,
Where the shade allows it to stay that way when much around has dried,

After a while then I heard and saw another fly by calling out ,

I wondered then about such things,

I have taught you to be a fisherman and you would not listen,
I have taught you to be a hunter and you also would not hear,

I have told you about balance ,
And subsistence ,
And warned you what may occur ,

I have stirred you so you may see yourselves,
As some now I see as though inside out socks ,
As what rises from the other side of a universe looking out looks in,

It won't be long now until the lawless man is revealed I imagine ,

Not even the son knows the time or hour
