Told what to do
« on: September 05, 2013, 11:16:49 AM »
Human beings love to be told what to do, but they love even more to fight and not do what they are told, and thus they get entangled in hating the one who told them in the first place.

DJ cracks me up because sometimes what he says is a contradiction in the way he says it. I have often struggled with the quotes, as he seems to say two different things about one aspect. But I can see, we like to be told what to do, because we do like structure and predictability. However ego can get in the way, and also rebel at being told what to do! So in this I can understand the contradiction a bit. But it still comes across like a zen koan to the mind.  :)

He is attempting to split your mind! to be able to hold the contradiction you must hold it from two places at once.
