not taking pictures of yourself is a way to erase personal history

It can be but I dont agree with that part. Like I have taken numerous pictures of my kids and treasure them. Carlos is a bit of an enigma, and he wrote the books. But I dont think he followed all to the letter. He was famous and that is why. So I dont think he completely erased his personal history as much. Perhaps his past - like his birth certificate we know of might not be right. He probably wasnt born on Christmas. Things like that. So he did it somewhat. But we still can pin him a bit with the history he had revealed to us. We can probably pin him down more than you can pin you or me down. So really depends on the individual and just how much personal history we can actually erase.

Boy its not fun getting older. I have been at my job for seven years, typing away at a computer all day. I am starting to feel the wear and tear of this in my left arm and hand. Went to the doctor last week. Said I either have a pinched nerve, or pulled something, and this is causing the numbness in left hand. It could be the onset of carpal tunnel. It is hard to tell. I am taking some muscle relaxers and such for it right now, but not really helping. And its tough cause cannot really stop my job to heal. Some days I type like 70 emails a day, though I am trying to chill on this right now which is ok. Im not required to do so many. But if I see a lot of emails in the queue I like to help them out and get them down. But it is unnerving when the body is acting up, and I know im getting older. Or like if I have been sitting for some time, I stand up and am stiff as a board, and have to slowly get up and let my circulation come back to me. Ugh. So been dealing with all that. I suppose better its my left and not  my right. Its not super bad, but it is annoying. I hope I get better soon.

I dont often criticize someone for their view. But if their view is ridiculous, and they are throwing that view in my face, cramming it down my throat, then that is another story. I dont think religions should be off limits. They should be open to be challenged, as some rely on belief and ideas and opinions, and mythology. Ultimately no one has all the ownership of knowledge and truth within it. I get bits and pieces from many, but really they all can be challenged in some way.

good to see you

I believe in taking responsibility

so if you criticize somebodies religion and it makes the world a better place with more truth that's great

i don't follow organized religion either just see the truth in them

i believe they should be open for exposure

whether i believe or not that religious extremists will attack somebody for expression of criticism or ridicule of their religion

does not sway them in their action probably only fuel it

that's why we need responsibility

creating that separation doe not do what the statement implies of bringing freedom then

so the action does not  meet the words

I rented the movie Exodus: Gods and Kings last night. I was amazed with the reviews of the movie, that the movie was not 'Biblical" and many were upset by this.

Some issues people are having with the movie:

1- Main one - God is portrayed as a child with a British accent. And he's really pissed off. Moses often argues with him, like he's his parent. The kid, before he unleashed the 10 Plagues says "Just you watch." When the kid is pissed, he goes off. The special effects of the 10 Plagues was really good.

2-Moses does not have a staff, he has an Egyptian sword. He uses this quite often. But the one scene was omitted, which is when Moses tosses down the staff, and it turns into a serpent, devouring the magicians (of Pharoahs) little snakes. The serpent was to represent Israel kicking the Egyptians asses. But they did not have this scene.

3-The parting of the Red Sea. Ok so Moses did not 'part it.' He throws his Egyptian sword in the sea. Then it kinda "drains" a bit. Personally, I would have liked to see it parted. But the pissed off kid job does a good job closing the sea on Pharoah and his Egyptian army.

4-Kid God does not actually do the Ten Commandments himself. He basically dictates to Moses what to say, and he uses a hammer and chisel to write them on top of the mountain.

5-Kid God does not get pissed off about a Golden Calf. And freak out about it like in The Bible.

So as you can see, with such changes and omissions, some Christians are like really mad. I wasn't mad about it, lol. Some of its amusing. I mean, the sea drains cause of a sword, really? God as a British kid with an axe to grind at the Egyptians? I was a bit bummed no magical staff turning into a serpent. But all in all, it was a pretty good watch. Oh, but they did do the Passover pretty good, and seemed to keep to that one.

The Egyptians were pissed off about it and I think they banned it in Egypt. Their problem is that the whole story is not historical - it's a Jewish wish-fulfilment fantasy. The Egyptians were also upset that no Egyptians starred in the primary roles.

Well I dont have a problem with Egyptians not being used. I personally think its silly to ban the movie. I am not into movie banning, or book banning, or any of that. That seems ridiculous to myself. But that probably comes from being in the USA with freedom of speech. We are not too big on censorship out here. I really dont see the harm in showing the movie in Egypt.
