I understand the motivation to be better than I am now, or than I was in the past. And how! That is one of my truths. That is also one of my greatest sources of tension and stress, and conflict with myself. It is not an absolute, though.
Back then, my previous self was my highest creation, and that creation included my present self as a possible self, as well as many possible future selves. I am not superior to my previous self, because that is me. I'm not inferior to any of my possible future selves either, for they are me.
We are always changing. We are always, in the now, more than we are aware of. The process is to become aware. The choice is to do so, or not. It's just a choice. By becoming aware, we affect our past and our future, making them more aware. The present point of power is NOW. We are never superior or inferior to ourselves. We just are.
