Feel like dancing?

~Mali
Salif: “Yambo, Yambo.” That's the party. They call the party Yambo. That means something good. That means good food, good ambience, and beauty. People dance. The Africans don't just have to dance like Africans the whites don't just have to dance like whites. There are Africans who know how to dance white, but they don't dance black. There are ones who know how to dance black, but they don’t dance white. There are some who know how to dance the Wolof sabar, but they don't know how to dance reggae. But me, I like someone who knows how to dance to everything. A person who knows how to dance all the rhythms of the world, and can hit in any rhythm.

SK is an interesting fellow. (http://www.afropop.org/multi/interview/ID/93/Salif+Keita%3A+2006) He does work on behalf of albino orphans, and reveals that in Mali, and throughout Africa, the blood of albinos is used in rituals.
There's an interesting tid-bit to add to the inhumanity of the species.

Finding this song led me to some epiphanies, and I'll always be grateful. But besides all that, it's a great tune - full of acoustic playing and great percusson.
Maybe that's all one can do - dance, dance to all the rhythms of the world.

**Note of additional information: "albino" is now a politically incorrect and pejorative term. (I didn't know!) In Africa, as I understand it, it is now more proper to say "persons with albinism".

Good piece - enjoyed that one.
