Merlin is in town for the winter. A/K/A Pidgeon Hawk. He's a pidgeon-sized, pidgeon-colored raptor. He hunts mostly at dawn and dusk when his prey can't tell he's not one of them. He flew pidgeon speed at a roof top yesterday evening where some pidgeons were, only he didn't flare when he got there. Picked one off the top of the roof before it knew what hit it.
Sorry I'm not good at retrieving pics off the net. You'll have to use your imaginations. Good excercise, that.

Thank you!!
That's a female, with the buff colored stripes I think. The male's stripes are much more subdued, and and his head is much darker. Just so you'll have an idea. Her head even looks like a pidgeon's, somewhat, with the pronounced stop and the short bill.
Beautiful birds. I love raptors. LOL, I almost spelled it rapture. Kinda lets you know how I get with them, doesn't it?
Namaste'
