Now I was wondering about this. How many people are reading? Apparently, over the years in the US, book reading is declining. Now I have always read books. But many spiritualists are relying on websites to teach them. This is terrible. But they did say, women read more than men. And see, with social media doing its thing, and many are turning to AI to do the brain work for them, there is only going to be a decline in intelligence over the years.
Now also, they said people are losing touch being able to work with numbers. Now I am fortunate. For decades I have worked in work which always uses them. The check cash place, numbers. Call center and billing, numbers, and figuring out billing issues and working them out for people. I can do math just fine. But if folks don't work with numbers consistently, and keep it up, they are screwed. Not all can be done by a calculator. Sometimes you have to dig for answers and sort things out. Having good problem solving skills and thinking outside the box is critical.
But also yes, they spoke on being manipulated, and folks say watching news, then reading comments to formulate an opinion, vs think for themselves. Now sure at times I am curious about comments, but they do not sway me at all. I am well aware commenters may not even be real, thanks to Dead Internet Theory, and the conspiracy to manipulate.
What is the solution here? Folks have got to get back to basics and read books. One, it will enhance the attention span, and work the brain, so it doesn't rot. But do some math without calculators once in a while, work things out. But oh damn, think for yourself.
Like regularly, before I speak or write, I will step back "Is what I am saying coming from me, or is it programming?" Examine if your beliefs are something genuine and innate, and not the result of modern programming. Question everything. But for God's sakes, read books!
