A foggy mirror
Spits back a tainted reflection
But who am I to judge
What I see
Is it me
How can it be?
Sticky words
They fall on me
On my ears
Rest on my heart
But the wind blows through
You to me and me to you
Erasing all my doubts
Hawk feathers
Land
Spell perfection
Great Sprit knows
And always shows
We get what we need
What we want
I close my eyes and
Learn to breathe
And ask for what I need
The mirror now shows
What I am
This I know
-
I close my eyes and
Learn to breathe

Ah, thank you Jen. I needed to re-read this today.

Oh I had a dream again about butterflies,
bubblegum and your mom
In it we were floating, yeah we were flying
Wings made of cherry and perriwinkle gauze
Swimming ‘twixt shimmery cotton candy clouds
Stealing a taste on the fly
Seedless watermelon bubblegum glued to the ceiling
Binding the cosmos together
Holding your mom’s hand swerving ’round the sun
Darting first in and then out of the of the stars
Blueberry syrup dripping from Jupiter
And soap suds laughing popping silvery like the moon
