This is actually a photo of an ink rendition (by JQ Jacobs) of some rock art, but I wanted to post it, as it came up in a dream I had last night. In the dream, the drawing was supposed to be a template of the world and the astral.

From what I've seen, the Australian aboriginals were the best rock artists:
