Carmen Amaya

She was completely self-taught, is still touted as "the greatest flamenco
dancer ever", and was the archetypal epitome of gypsy fire.
She danced for Churchill and Roosevelt.
She died young, at age 50, in 1963.

The unique thing about her was that she combined the
male and female parts of the dance.
