Title: Does this one make any sense?
Post by: Firestarter on January 08, 2010, 12:20:31 PM
“A warrior knows that he cannot change, and yet he makes it his business to try to change, nevertheless. The warrior is never disappointed when he fails to change. That’s the only advantage a warrior has over the average man.”

I think it's an illusion that we change. Our outer garments may change, and that can be expereinced.
How does consciousness though change? There is nothing to change, only perhaps to reveal.

I can somewhat understand the fails part, thanks Michael, but looking how sorcery is so energetic, that energy is everything, is it a worthwhile vestment to focus on change, when the warrior says you cant change anything about yourself? Most of the lit on this, is about doing away with the self, leaning on the energy body, realizing we're magical beings, not just physical ones. It seems to me, then, the quote to be quite odd. Change is going on all the time, and carlos certainly changed under don juan. How could one not change under such conditions?

It could be meaning the witness never changes, maybe thats what was meant, like the witness in buddhism. I am not sure.

We doesn't change. We change perception.
But in order to change perception, we have to embrace change.

Okay I can see that as making sense. Changing perception. But wouldnt this cause some changes in us when we do? Or am I merely thinking in terms of tonal, cause the tonal I see as always changing. The nagual, maybe that side doesnt change, is what was meant.
