Title: Sulphur-crested Cockatoos (aerial rats)
Post by: Michael on May 28, 2010, 08:15:52 PM
''In Canberra,'' writes David Graham, of thereabouts, ''sulphur-crested cockatoos have learnt to bungy jump. They pull the rubber seal out from street lights, stand on top of the light with the rubber in their claws and jump off. They end up hanging upside down with their wings spread out, squawking. They then fly up and do it again, and again. They look like they're having a great time.''

That's a riot!     :D   Sounds like pure pleasure, mischief, and fun on their part - love it.

I searched for possible photos of the event, to no avail. But how pretty they are! Noisy crowd, I bet.

They are pure ratbags. And extremely good flyers. They make the most beautiful sonorous sound, like your father's grave is being opened by a chainsaw.

"3 young cockatoos are enjoying the strong winds at the Australian Cronulla Beach swinging and balancing on an electrical wire."
