Our Poems
« on: July 15, 2006, 10:49:42 AM »
Tired of the apricots which come each year
  yet I wait for them
Tired of the laughter of young girls
  yet I sit and watch
Oh this deep longing to be free
        to stream out
          into untrod worlds
        and never return.

Tired of the evening meals
  yet I sit and eat
Tired of the long sunny days
  yet I live them through
Oh this constant longing to be free
        to leave behind
          the bodies pain
        and never return.

Tired of the words you speak to me
  yet I sit and listen
Tired of the love I have to offer you
  yet I give my heart
Oh this savage longing to be free
        to fly away
          far beyond these ruts
        and never return.

It gets a little windy, out around the bend -
  the seagulls squawking madly, -
sometimes i like to take a breather -
  while waiting for the wind.

Still, it be dead true  -
  all to dead true, -
what they say about this weird business -
  now so near at hand.

Likened to an old bull -
just lost his last horn -
(as if he didn't know) -
and here he sits -
  and laughs -
and smiles with an old roguish wink…
“cherries blooming out”.

Whisperings among young girls -
the lick of an edge -
  and frightened -
cuts the teachers flesh,
  but the old woman -
she just wait and see…

“never know when old mountain -
  he been catchem ‘nother ark.”

Down beneath me
there a dog
on all four legs
a dog that begs,

and begs for mercy
begs for joy
begs that i might see his ploy,

a dog of bones
a dog that roams
down beneath me
moaning deeply.

For those who know what I mean

Go straight to the silent centre – if the walls of your well aren’t ready, too bad;

don’t waste too much time on padding now

the best female I ever met

was the bark woman;

she has my allegiance

Running for your life

Will Damocles behind?

And Melchizedek (like a fly's eye) to guide you, to

the only way to die.

look around, every one is dying.  How is their death?

Running on a sliding screed

No one's winning, save for those who have parked their wealth off-shore

…built a burning pod in the next.

I am not given to telling the truth

it is anathema to my well being.

Yet none-the-less

something should be said

of the profound tenacity

with which some people

cling to their private hell

in defiance of the eventual

catastrophe awaiting them.

    Driven by their desire

    to defend their big toe.

Yes, I can empathize.

I wish I was a ship
sailing through the ocean
feeling every motion.
Id guide you to the shore
like many times before.

We'd go on an adventure
to a place of pure wonder
with lightning and thunder.
i'd keep you safe from harm
the sirens I would charm.

Pirates would come and go,
There'd be turbulence and strife,
but id protect you with my life.
They'd try to rob our treasure,
but id hold it all together.

O sea monster or vengeful whales
might peer up through the waves,
so I'd make them all my slaves,
and guide you to a safer place,
with dolphins you could embrace.

Id steer you to a magic island,
where rainbows decorate the palms
you could give the islanders alms
with compassion and kindness,
we could remove the world's blindness.

Then Id take you to a crystal cave,
miles and miles away from home,
where you'd be free to roam,
calm your mind in peace,
made all the madness cease.

Id float you to the Bermuda Triangle
to have you overcome all fear,
that fate and destiny as you hear,
are not about control
they cant when one has soul.

Then Id have my ship grow wings,
fly you through the clearest skies,
you'd look down at the earth with new eyes,
everyday would be fresh and new,
the nights for magic too.

I wish I was a ship
how many trips I'd sail
Id slip past every whale
We never would depart,
Id be the chamber of your heart....
