Wake Up the Spirits
The spirits sleep in all the named and nameless things. They are fast asleep in everything. Yet there may not have been a ceremony here for the last thousand years. To us it seems like a long time, but it is but a breath in forever. The spirits of a power place wait and they slumber. When you, as a shaman, arrive, the first thing you must do is wake up the spirits and make them stand up. Remember that a ceremony is only as powerful as the person giving it. If you can't wake up the spirits of a place, you may as well pack it in and go home.
