New Soul

 Yael Naim - New Soul

I'm a new soul I came to this strange world hoping I could learn a bit about how to give and take.
But since I came here
Felt the joy and the fear
Finding myself making every possible mistake

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...

I'm a young soul in this very strange world hoping I could learn a bit about what is true and fake.
But why all this hate?
Try to communicate.
Finding trust and love is not always easy to make.

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...

This is a happy end cause' you don't understand everything you have done why's everything so wrong

This is a happy end come and give me your hand I'll take your far away.

[Refrain]:
I'm a new soul I came to this strange world hoping I could learn a bit about how to give and take
But since I came here felt the joy and the fear finding myself making every possible mistake

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...

La-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la...

"If you stop seeing the world in terms of what you like and dislike, and saw things for what they truly are, in themselves, you would have a great deal more peace in your life..."

Thanks for posting this, A -- I was just listening to this song in a commercial, of all places. Thought to myself, wow, interesting lyrics for a commercial! (No idea what the product was.)

There are quite a few interesting singer-songwriters these days... I'm so out of the loop, it's good to know the name of at least one of them!   :-*

It's the new voice for macintosh.  Isn't she great!!  I love the indie whimsy flair.

I listened to it several times...it just kept making me smile  ;D

Indie, eh?
Let me fumble in my own words here before I look it up.
Are we hearing several "indie" songs in commercials these days -- like for JC Penney?
Melodic ... light-hearted edith-piaf-reminiscent? European bistro? Even a little dave matthews-reminiscent?
Finally something being created?
Is that "Indie"?

(I'm only barely from this planet, heheh.)

Heh...what I call "Indie", anyway...I'm the tail end of the baby boomers, and in the middle of 8 siblings....so I was rockin' with my Bro' on the electric guitar in the basement during the 60's and rockin' with my younger brother to Metallica in the ...gawd was that the 80's?!!  Anyway, I think indie is very close to what you might remember as "folk" with a little "whimsy"  ;)
