Dreaming of other Worlds
« on: August 15, 2009, 11:16:31 AM »
"Don Juan contended that our world, which we believe to be unique and absolute, is only one in a cluster of consecutive worlds, arranged like the layers of an onion.  He asserted that even though we have been energetically conditioned to perceive solely our world, we still have the capability of entering into those other realms, which are as real, unique, absolute, and engulfing as our own world is."

~ The Art Of Dreaming
"A warrior doesn't seek anything for his solace, nor can he possibly leave anything to chance. A warrior actually affects the outcome of events by the force of his awareness and his unbending intent." - don Juan

Because we are hooked to our tonals strongly, which we are supposed to be, because we need the reference point, at the same time we can do in dreaming like this quote, and access other worlds. The trick is to realize they can be as much as real as the tonal world; however, all is maya, and they still have a maya quality to them, so we have to still be grounded in our tonal world or else get lost in the second attn, something to be on guard for, which is probably why DJ had assembled in groups, dreamers and stalkers. They did offer a way of 'balancing out each other.' One is more strongly at first, the other at second, both do their respective work, but Ive always found value in being able to - regardless of propensity for either side - attempt to balance and use techiques of both sides. Now, I prefer dreaming, I may lean more that way, perhaps cause it offers more of the 'mystical' side of the path. However, the stalker side of the path still offers a sobriety that cannot be attained fully when only working on dreaming. So I like working with both techniques, and while I do like the 'other worlds' that can be examined (arent they infinite at best? they can be), at the same time, my tonal is where its at, and I cant have a quality at the second attn, unless ive stabilized my first, which Im well aware of. I esp find I have to do it now in my life, knowing how my mind now, can do its own thing potentially, and now im taking medication for it, trying very hard to remain a 'serene lake' in the face of adversity.
