I just did a post on facebook that David Bowie and I share the same birthday, January 8. He was a true icon and will be missed. I am honored to share a birthday with him.

Helden (Heroes) and My Generation

Helden? Well I got Bowies song Heroes on a German singel edition, there called Helden ... and I was there in Germany, saw his friend Iggy Pop coming on a chopper as a passenger, on his way to watch Nina Hagen on one of her first live performances. I was in Berlin to meet my friend, Henry Walter. But I had to skip the concert with Nina Hagen and get back to driving Taxi, though I got a treasure from her manager.

Bowie lived by that time in Berlin (at Hauptstraße) and he made three Classic albums: Low, Heroes and Lodger.

During that period, Iggy completed  together with Bowie as a co-writer and musician, his solo album debut "The Idiot" and its follow-up "Lust for Life".

Now today my generation came one step closer to the unavoidable finish, David Bowie died.

David released his last album on his birthday, Januari the 8:th. The Album is named "Blackstar" and it has a track called "Lazarus"

Bowie made such a lot of good Music and my first album was "Ziggy Stardust" from 1972 (I was 17 and he was 25 years old). But to honor him this day I chose Don't Look Down", from the album "Tonight", released 1984. A cover of Iggy Pop, but he wrote songs for Iggy Pop so that is even.
