Emerging Mariposa
« on: January 17, 2008, 04:59:32 AM »
Quiet
under a Morrowind sky
I gaze at the clouds overhead
to see
There's a whole new Universe
in my eye

The beauty in a blade of grass
Like never seen before
Colours, textures,
Shapes
Anew

MY eyes taste rainbow sunbeams
Signs of a brand new day
And a fading malady
like a cocoon
Wraps me up, a chrysalis
Where now dreams come
like never before
Bringing answers, Healing
Wisdoms
All ways known, yet
Finally realized

Swallow the keys, swallow the keys
Unlock the chest
Open up
And the wolves howl and bite
As they mark their territory
And they pace, encircling
Protection

And the Jerseys in the pasture
Impart an ancient wisdom
and the leaves, crisp
and twigs crackle lightly
underfoot

And then I, in the treetop
Swaying steady
with the low gentle Wind
Hear the dream voice whisper
"Do not be afraid Child.
You are Dreaming."

I break out of my
protective casing
Brand new face
New body, Self
Now, like a babe
I spread my wings
Emerging mariposa

I wrote this a little while ago after a series of pneumonia induced dreams. 8)

Pneumonia was good.  It helped me see how I hold onto grief.
Glad you like the poem, me too!
