True Freedom
« on: April 17, 2014, 10:45:31 PM »
"“To seek freedom is the only driving force I know. Freedom to fly off into that infinity out there. Freedom to dissolve; to lift off; to be like the flame of a candle, which, in spite of being up against the light of a billion stars, remains intact, because it never pretended to be more than what it is: a mere candle.”" CC

One of the great things of the Toltec path is to attain freedom. To break from the prison, to be truly free, inspires us and gets our eye on the infinite. However, are we truly free, and can we ever attain true freedom? Is there any hope of it?

First there is karma which does bind us and does rob us of our freedom. We are not truly free when we are tied to our karma. However, buddha does give hope one can be free of karma, and suffering, and the whole bit by the means of nirvana. This gives some hope for us, however we do not know what happens to us after death per buddha except some speculation by the monks who followed him which the sects do vary. But we do feel nirvana will lead to peace and freedom that we crave.

From cc we gather the infinite offers a similar path, one however we can lose our freedom, and really, everything we are, our awareness completely, unless, we are given the gift of the eagle to pass into the infinite. And from this then we can understand cc's passion very much so, when we look at the binds we experience on earth, which do prevent freedom in the same realm, a state of being where we can truly be free? Is this possible?

That is the great question and this can only be prepared for. That moment, when we venture alone in our death, to that moment where we will either achieve this freedom or not. We can only speculate up until this time, and hope our knowledge is sufficient our work with mind has been good enough, to venture us to the infinite. True freedom, the love of the warrior, what they hold most dear. What will be good enough? It is devoting ones life and being to one singular moment in time, where we pass through the door, one shot, and that is all we have, nothing more.

"And having entered the Stream of Dharma the practitioner regularly examines his or her own heart and sees. This is the freedom thus won and these are the fetters, the entanglements still to be released in me." ~ The Buddha.
