We have a local competition going on in our daily newspaper to take the "best" summer picture. So far we have about 850 contributions. Here is some of my favorites including my pics.

An art "arch" installation down at our local river. What you see as a white house along the shore is a one star restaurant.

And then my contributions
first, our sleeping bridge at the summerhouse, quite dull.

and then this that surprisingly came on the first page in the daily newsletter this very morning. I almost fell out of the chair and lost my cup of tea when I saw it because I had uploaded it the evening before and it felt ... unreal, to see it there. I had no idea that they was about to publish any photo before the contest was done.

For you that doesn't know, this painting of a house is typical Swedish during the 18th and 19th and even 20 th century - still used very commonly on the countryside. The red colour is made from end products from copper mines mixed with vegetable oil.
