" It doesn’t matter what people say. I’m no longer Carlos Castaneda, the writer. Nowadays I know that I am nothing; nobody can take something from me, because Joe Cordoba isn’t anything./.../
In all this is no personal pride hidden. We live on a level that is lower than the Mexican peasant, which does tells a lot. We have reached the bottom and cannot go deeper. But the difference between us and the peasant is that he nourish a hope, he want things and he works so he one day will have more than he has today. We on the other hand, has nothing, and for each day we got less
."

yes, he also was touched in a way that he could never be the old self again - that was what i meant when i said he had been trained. i think here we are touching on a deep issue - the implant of an energetic element which has altered all of us - we will never rest - the roof has gone.

i owe a huge debt to old joe.

It is intriguing that this thread started around the same time I got an urge to go back and re-read CC's books.

There is something important here for me to understand but I can't quite grok it.

Sounds intriguing!

Now please, there is only one reality to describe. No matter who that does it.
I prefer my version after all, but the descriptions all boil down to the same.

However, there are som differences, actually, but that depends on bias not reality itself. So go and find a description without bias or be unbiased your self, and you'll find out.

Found this while browsing a second hand book store...looks like an interesting read.
Interesting character who ran the stall said ...it's all in the Castaneda books if you
know what to look for...we had a good conversation...he was into everything...
If anyone has read it I'd like to hear your thoughts....I can post some excerpts if
anyone would like.

I would enjoy some excerpts if you would post them, concerning:  A Comparative Study of the Teachings of Don Juan and Madhyamaka Buddhism : Knowledge and Transformation.

Have you read this book?  What were your thoughts?

I could buy it used for around eight bucks, but would like to read a bit more if you care to share ;)
