Bandar kya jaane adark ka swaad
English : What does a monkey know of the taste of ginger?
Meaning : someone who can't understand can't appreciate.





Ab pachatae hoot kya  jab chidiya chug gayi khet.
English : Why repent now, when the bird has already eaten the crop.
Meaning : There's no use of repentance after time of action passes.




Naach na jaane aangan tedha
English : Knows no dance, claims the stage is tilted.
Meaning : Said of a person without skill who blames his failure on other things.




Ek haath se taali nahin bajati
English : One hand alone cannot make the clap sound.
Meaning : It takes two to quarrel.




Pratyakshya ko praman ki aavashykta nahi
English : Facts don't require proof to stand correct.





Sawan ke andhe ko sab hara hi hara nazar aata hai.
English : One who goes blind in spring, sees only greenery all around
Meaning : Used for people who fail to see reality, especially dire circumstances when they have lived through prosperous times.
