Open me
« on: July 20, 2006, 12:51:15 AM »

Open me up
While the crows are barking
Outside my window
They wait in harried anticipation
of the feast
Open me up
Strip the flesh from my bones
And the sinew
Ripped
Torn
Raw meat from each muscle
Open me up
So I am sustenance for the
Scavengers
So they may feed on my innards
That my body gives them life
Open me up
Take from me
All that I am
All that I ever wanted to be
Open me up
Drain the life blood from my veins
Pouring
Pouring rivulets
Scarlet droplets to the floor
No cup be there to catch it
Watch it scatter into  earth
Landing in the dragon’s mouth
Open me up
My chest a gaping cavity
Housing nothing any longer
No heart, to beat
No lungs to breathe
Only essence, spirit, song
And only death
awaits

WOW! I really got caught up in this one!  :D

It feels as if you dream life into these.

I read it several times and even had a rhythm to go with it in my head. Each word created picture instantly. I was happily rocking to the rhythm. How caught up I got in your poem reminded me of a dream I had. I'll share in dreaming section.
"As long as we confuse the myriad forms of the divine lila with reality, without perceiving the unity of Brahman underlying all these forms, we are under the spell of maya..."

Glad you like it Nick,
This one was important for me.   Writing the poem, but also the experiences, realizations and knowings that led me to write this.
Can't wait to read your dream. ;D
