well i'm a tad confused - where is the Tom Petty version? whoever he is.

I like the Cars version better, except for all those cars.

only problem with this stuff, is that we'll be sitting back showing it to our kids one day not too soon, telling them about how things used to be once, before we all gave up motor vehicles. Luckily I don't have kids.

There is no Tom Petty version, turns out. Seems to be a widespread mislabelling going on. How it happened, I don't know. Maybe because they're both lead guitarists named Tom with blonde hair?

Here's a Tom Petty song, the one I remember most, anyway.

You're right about the cars. I thought the same thing when I watched that pixar video -- what a lifestyle, soon to be obsolete!

well... I know know who Tom Petty, Tom Cochrane, and Rascal Flatts, are. Not to mention a whole bunch of other stuff (courtesy of google, wiki and fellow somaite travellers!!)  *lol*

That's a fun song!

I have to confess, I'll remember a song -- how it grooves, what the general time frame was, what sort of mood I was in, if I sang along with it on the radio riding down the road in my car, if I loved it -- but I'm terrible with titles and names.

"You know, it was that guy with the gal..." and naturally no one knows what I'm talking about.  :)

I had a hard time finding this song when I was putting together a list, because I thought this one was Tom Petty too --- must have been on the radio in the same time period:

And I confused this one with Tom Petty too:

Why TP? He was this amorphous unknown to me, so all things in a certain vein got filed there in my brain.
