Don't let It Bring you Down

Don't let It Bring you Down
Don't let It Bring you Down

Old man lying
by the side of the road
With the lorries rolling by,
Blue moon sinking
from the weight of the load
And the building scrape the sky,
Cold wind ripping
down the allay at dawn
And the morning paper flies,
Dead man lying
by the side of the road
With the daylight in his eyes.

Don't let it bring you down
It's only castles burning,
Find someone who's turning
And you will come around.

Blind man running
through the light
of the night
With an answer in his hand,
Come on down
to the river of sight
And you can really understand,
Red lights flashing
through the window
in the rain,
Can you hear the sirens moan?
White cane lying
in a gutter in the lane,
If you're walking home alone.

Don't let it bring you down
It's only castles burning,
Just find someone who's turning
And you will come around.

Don't let it bring you down
It's only castles burning,
Just find someone who's turning
And you will come around.

Four Strong Winds

Four Strong Winds
Peggy and Neil Young

Think I'll go out to Alberta, weather's good there in the fall
I got some friends that I can go to working for
Still I wish you'd change your mind,
If I asked you one more time
But we've been through this a hundred times or more

* Four strong winds that blow lonely, seven seas that run high
All those things that don't change come what may
If a good times are all gone, and I'm bound for moving on
I'll look for you if I'm ever back this way.

If I get there before the snow flies, and if things are going good
You could meet me if I sent you down the fare
But by then it would be winter, nothing much for you to do
And the wind sure does blow cold way out there

(Repeat *)
(Adlib)
(Repeat last 3 lines of verse 1)
(Repeat *)

I’ll look for you if I’m ever pass this way

And a version from Waylon ... :)

Harvest Moon

Neil Young - Harvest Moon

Come a little bit closer
Hear what I have to say
Just like children sleepin'
We could dream this night away.

But there's a full moon risin'
Let's go dancin' in the light
We know where the music's playin'
Let's go out and feel the night.

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

When we were strangers
I watched you from afar
When we were lovers
I loved you with all my heart.

But now it's gettin' late
And the moon is climbin' high
I want to celebrate
See it shinin' in your eye.

Because I'm still in love with you
I want to see you dance again
Because I'm still in love with you
On this harvest moon.

Always been a great fan of Neil. I used to cover many of his songs back in those days, when one did that kind of thing. Old Man was one of my favourites. He is such a genuine character.

When I was a kid, I'd record songs off the radio on my reel to reel and then figure them out and play them.  For christmas one year I got a huge Neil Young song book!  Just me and my guitar :)

 ;) Hey ....

Old Man
