This video was taken at Surmang in 2002 at Dutsi Til monastery in Tibet by Surmang Khenpo Tsering Gyurme. It is taken from the first 10 minutes of a longer DVD that captures selected progressive portions of the Black Hat Dance, and Chakrasamvara Dance at Surmang. The scene depicted in this video is a ritual slaying of a clay effigy depicting the demon of egohood, (or anti dharmic forces.) Konchok foundation is rebuilding the shedra at Surmang to provide a place for in depth study and practice for monks and nuns, and a general education for lay people of the area.
