Influencing Others
« on: February 27, 2009, 04:14:35 AM »
... There is no need for us to say anything about others. There is no need for you or for me to regard other's actions in our thoughts one way or another. The worst thing we can do is to force people to agree with us. I mean that we shouldn't try to impose our will when people don't behave the way we want them to. The worst thing one can do is to confront human beings bluntly. A warrior proceeds strategically. If one wants to stop our fellow men one must always be outside the circle that presses them. That way one can always direct the pressure...

I'm certainly blunt, and the older I get, the more blunt I seem to get.   So this advice is something I need to take within.

I am more blunt than you. (Melody - I was a punk before you were, by the Tubes).  ;D  ;D

Heh my boss told my wife an interesting thing some years ago. My boss and i have been at the same unit for more than 20 years and I like him and we know each other pretty well. However, at a small party he in some confidence told my wife that "Well, he isn't sharp in the edges any longer." (Difficult to translate) Perhaps meaning that I was less Saturn and more Venus minded. And I suppose that is the way it has developed.

 :) :)

The sweeter edges of Venus!

I've got a good deal of Libra in my chart -- Mercury, Neptune, & Saturn -- so there would seem to be the potential for finesse ... but must work on my patience, which has all but disappeared in very recent times.

When the country is ruled with a light hand
The people are simple.
When the country is ruled with severity,
The people are cunning.

Happiness is rooted in misery.
Misery lurks beneath happiness.
Who knows what the future holds?
There is no honesty.
Honesty becomes dishonest.
Goodness becomes witchcraft.
Man's bewitchment lasts for a long time.

Therefore the sage is sharp but not cutting,
Pointed but not piercing,
Straightforward but not unrestrained,
Brilliant but not blinding.
