Bells
« on: November 27, 2006, 02:06:23 AM »
Ive been using a small brass bell for years at the onset of any ritual type work to attract and honour the 'light hearted ones' to join my practice.  Sometimes simply ringing this bell is a ritual in itself and nothing further is done.

On one of my GD tours I picked up some ankle bells, creates a lovely sound while dancing.. they have fallen apart some and no longer can be worn so I attached them to a long wand type stick with other decor. Its often picked up during drumming sessions.

I had a small drum circle here at my house last night and while in a light trace state of drumming one of my companions started shaking this bell wand near me.

Now as I started writing this I had thought I could capture the moment of that in words and Im finding it rather difficult to match. If anyone has ever experienced a full open heart center its comparable.

Eh... my taste for writing is slipping fast.. *smiles*

Tiny bells...

Blessings, Jennifer

The traditional Chinese one I use has four suspended brass rings with brass balls independently suspended between them and a large brass triangle at the end.  I have a small fan going about ten feet away so that the chime lightly rings very slowly.  It keeps me here and now when sitting.  Her sound is very, very light but penetrating.

Just got done seeing "It's a Wonderful Life," with everyone. When a bell rings, and angel gets their wings, so the movie says :)
