I'm thinking that, up until this point, the Beatles didn't avail themselves much of the advantages in the recording studio -- like doing voice-overs or retakes on tracks. Because their sound is really quite raw and ragged in places, heheh. Occasionally, one hears an outright bad note. But the melodies! I can see why their songs have been redone by so many different artists over the years.
