Talking but Intro's this must be on top ten in the old list that belongs to our generation. Was it mentioned?
The list in your first post do not show.
Hmmm, most of them were in top ten, but not all (like Muddy Waters, for example.) And yes, Vic is our generation - maybe a year older than Michael. Vic didn't address the "Top Ten" per se in his post on FB, but his influences in songwriting come from commercial standards. There are certain formulaic markers in pop songs -- a catchy beginning, a repeatable chorus, a bridge, and lyrical-but-not-obscure words, for example.
The song he chose from Van Morrison I don't remember at all, so he must have strayed off the "Top Ten" list. He's a musician, still active, but his recent interests have moved into old bluegrass. He recently put out 2, with this woman from Vermont: one a Christmas album, and one a tribute cd to the "Carter Family". Not my personal cuppa, just illustrating that he still does time in recording studios.
I always laugh at this one.
