a miracle
« on: September 05, 2006, 02:27:40 AM »
What the world needs now is a miracle,
and it is miracles to which we are all entitled.
For miracles occur naturally as expressions of love;
they are in fact the natural order of the world
when the mind is in its natural state.
Our task, quite simply, is to love
in a way that we have never loved before.

Marianne Williamson

We who have the tough-minded, Toltec influence and who likely share a love for adventure, what did we do with love? Did we forget it, put it aside, take it within?

Did it become so cliche in societal "Christianity" that we ceased to believe it? Did it become washed away in a New Age-y blur?

Don Juan, despite his recriminations of Carlos -- even his expressed revulsion by Carlos -- did he not love? I'm willing to consider that I project it, but it has always struck me that he did!

I wonder why it's never spoken of .. is it that we don't like the word?
Or is the word so full of multiple meanings that we are cautious?

:D This just came in my email...

Every word of every tongue

By Fakhruddin Iraqi
(? - 1289)

Every word of every tongue is
Love telling a story to her own ears.
Every thought in every mind,
She whispers a secret to her own Self.
Every vision in every eye,
She shows her beauty to her own sight.
Every smile on every face,
She reveals her own joy for herself to enjoy.

Love courses through everything,
No, Love is everything.
How can you say, there is no love,
when nothing but Love exists?
All that you see has appeared because of Love.
All shines from Love,
All pulses with Love,
All flows from Love--
No, once again, all IS Love!

Love is ... the insatiable longing for god and spirit and the recognition of those forces in all.

That's the best I can do off the top of my head ---
this and the dictionary definitions pale, don't they?

Maybe love could equal to intent.

But anyway - how's that going to help us avoid dying like normal people?

Is that the answer --- that we perceive that focus on love takes us away from the quest to die with our awareness in tact?
Is it that we think it keeps us attached?

If you got a good rational explanation now, would it be of any help to you?

Then who and why invented all the hard work and practices then?  ;D

Is it that we think it keeps us attached?

I don't quite understand the meaning of this.

No - i don't need a rational explanation about love for my own sake. I'm just interested how others see it.
