It has not been as intense here as we have experienced elsewhere, for some reason we don't understand. Thankfully anyway. But still the cryafrackers have been exploding all over the place and through the night. They are still letting off huge bungers outside our window even this morning, two days later, which shatters the nerves every time.

Most shops were closed yesterday, for the big family thing they do.

15 day after Diwali, they have Dev Diwali - Diwali for the gods. It will be on the 17th this month, and is what we are waiting for. They are madly cleaning the mud off the ghats that was left from the last high river season, for the occasion. The entire ghats will be covered in candle lights.
