yes, that's what it's like.

but you know, when you are there - sure it is an interesting place - a tirtha - but there are tirthas everywhere.

what is the point of being in a tirtha if you can't access the other side?
and if you can, then you can go anywhere.

the great advantage of visiting such places like Kashi, is that your sensor is opened by something you have hitherto not known. That is the advantage of visiting vastly different places. There is some reward in that, which is why I advocate it. But ultimately, the peak of heaven is right here, beneath our feet. We only travel to realise we don't need to - unfortunately, we also need reminders and renewed purging of the stain of familiarity upon our lens.
