Some of the ragas/raginis are thought to have magical properties. More on this as I find more.

Megh Raga
The Megh Raga is said to initiate rain, and is thought of as a monsoon raga. In short, it's a rain dance.

Malkauns
M, thought you'd be interested in someone's comment about Malkauns Raga:
Raga Malkauns (Hindolam in Carnatic Nomenclature) which is a night raga of the Bhairavin Thaat.
Malkauns (or Malkosh) was also referred to as Malav kaushika or Kaushik in the past. It is a majestic and somewhat introverted pentatonic raga, which seems to have undergone quite a transformation over the centuries. In ragamala paintings Malkauns is frequently portrayed as a heroic lord taking pan. Superstitious musicians describe it as a raga with supernatural powers, and some believe that it can attract evil spirits.
