they can make an extraordinary range of sounds. We have one at a place where I work, who makes this incredible ratchet sound - never heard anything like it. But i always love the way they finish off - often they just let the sound die in a throaty groan.
I have some talk from the Raven in a MP3 file that are quite large, perhaps I shall load them on YouTube for everyone interested? The Blue Raven spoke of the world to come ... and that was in 2003.
I would love to hear! I was actually thinking that tomorrow I will attempt to capture their voices as they will come almost every morning now.
Well, Jamir
I haven't been able to capture 'my' ravens' voices yet, on tape. But I did have an odd thing happen in dreaming this morning.
In the dream the raven flew over head and began his call. As he was singing I remembered I had a container with me. It was a tall black cylinder with a lid. I took the lid off the container and captured the raven's call inside my container.
As I was putting the call in the container I saw and felt the most magnificent sparkling dark red swirling energy around my navel/sacral chakra area, but outside of me. And I felt the raven song coming from this orb (ish) of energy. I felt the energy rise up especially to my chest.
I then took it with me and just as I was waking up I opened the lid and let the call out.
At this point, waking and dreaming kind of mixed together as there was a raven outside my window as well, singing the same song.

Would you believe I just received one short sharp message from a Raven, flying over my house, he stopped just above my doorstep. Luckily I had the front door oepn to hear him.
It was right around the time you posted your message.

Each day they come to see me now. Seems they are getting closer and closer, lower.
The raven is sacred to St. Benedict. According to legend, St. Benedict had gone into isolation to fast. At the point of starvation, a raven brought him food.
Yesterday, I was taking some pictures of beautiful fall scenery, from out my bedroom window.
And just as I peeked my cam out the window, three ravens landed on the stoop of the Apartment buidling across the way.
I found myself thinking about Zamurito`s post at RS, in which he said that he had never taken pics of his crow friends and never felt like doing so. I agreed with him. Saying that it seemed like it wasn`t the `right`thing to do.
As I watched the ravens appear just as I got my camera out, I thought perhaps I had been wrong. Maybe they did want me to photograph them. ???
So I zoomed my cam as much as it would go, pointed it at the ravens across the way and, sure enough I was going to get a picture of them. No sooner did I press the button, before the shutter snapped, the ravens flew in front of me and right out of the picture. It all happened so fast, that I ended up with a picture of the stoop, nothing more.
LOL Silly birds.
With such birds, if they live nearby and are not temporary guests, I suppose one has to make some kind of agreement with them of whether to take photos or not.
It's Monday.
/.../
As I got outside some tears began to fall and I quickly rushed out of the parking lot before anyone could see.
I was lamenting my life, pitying myself feeling tired, overworked and underappreciated when suddenly out of nowhere... two ravens appeared. One flew around behind me and cawed a few times. "It's okay' he said "It's okay" And the other stood atop the telephone pole directly above me "We are here, we are here."
I said thank you and quickly did an awareness check "Where am I now?" What am I doing?"
As sad as I was feeling, tired and blue, alone in this big city, big world, with nobody to share it with, so far from family and Friends, I really have to be thankful that I have such a special connection with these Ravens and with other creatures as well.
Blue Monday.
Good to hear that a couple of Raven's stopped by to cheer you up!
I've been seeing Ravens a lot lately. There is one That I've seen a couple of times, I know because he has some sort of "limp". He swooped down next to me the other day as I was driving home and picked up something in the road. Then I saw him a gain in the supermarket parking lot. He always looks like he's drunk.
On Thanksgiving, I was on my way to pick up my nephew to go hiking and saw another Raven. We went hiking ... me, my son and my nephew .... and on our way to drop off my nephew at his house, we saw two more had joined the one, in the same spot. They are such beautiful creatures ... so huge and powerfully comforting close-up!
Okay I know I am probably nearly exceeding my post limit, heh I have a lot to say today but...
Something very exciting happened to me today!
I got to feed my Raven buddy this morning.
I was at work, at the window and he kept flying over me. He was getting closer and closer. So I had the perfect opportunity, while nobody was looking and no cars were in the parking lot, to throw him a few little treats.
He seemed happy. He waddled over to where I had thrown the treats. He was maybe 6 or 7 feet away from me. What a magnificent creature. And he was so cute today, with the winter cold, his belly feathers were a little icy. He didn't seem to mind, though. And after he was finished eating the presents I threw him, he fixed and fluffed his head feathers up. It's funny, Ravens are such sleek looking birds, but they can puff themselves up so they look almost fluffy.
Still, whether fluffy or sleek, they are beautiful birds. I was very pleased to have had the opportunity to spend some time with him today.
;D

OH! I missed this :) What a special blessing!
I left five lean quizines in the back of the trunk last night.
I checked them and they're okay.
Funny, we both forgot food in different ways last night, lol
