Random dinner
« on: August 24, 2010, 04:58:02 AM »
Lately I'm trying to eat a bit healthier, so here's my dinner for tonight.
No big deal to prepare it, I will not win any cooking competition with this :P

What's in it:

 - one slice of salmon cooked on the griddle, no frying in the oil anymore (PS: I just learned that it's called broiled :))
 - steamed potatoes, carrots and cauliflower sprinkled with a bit of lemon juice instead of salt
 - raw grated carrots  with the juice of half lemon

It probably won't make me lose fat, but it's supposed to be healthy. Plus it looks really colorful and yummy.
Scratch that, it IS colorful and yummy.

I usually don't put more then 3-4 vegetables, too many different tastes kill out each other.
Greens are for another day. I often use broccoli instead of cauliflower.

Ironically, in hungarian vegetables are called "greens", so these are greens :P

One suggestion, is a new plate - something tasteful. Why not one of those delightful Italian colourful plates?

Salmon is questionable these days - farmed fish has a huge environment footprint, to say nothing of the anti-biotics. But I must confess, we likes it here occasionally. Delicious fish.
